Mario Pharr

Mario Pharr serves as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Los Medanos College, where he is leading a resurgence of the Mustangs program. With a relationship-driven coaching style and a strong emphasis on preparation and accountability, Pharr has quickly established a competitive and connected team culture. 

Pharr brings experience from both the high school and collegiate levels, with a background centered on skill development, recruiting, and program building. His approach prioritizes structure, defensive commitment, and efficient offensive execution, while maintaining a clear focus on player growth and team cohesion. 

In the most recent season, Pharr guided the Mustangs to the best season in program history, highlighted by the most wins in a single season and the first playoff victory in program history. The milestone season reflects the program's steady progress under his leadership and the standard he continues to set. 

Pharr is committed to developing student-athletes beyond the court, placing a strong emphasis on academic success, personal responsibility, and preparing players for opportunities at four-year institutions. His ability to connect with players while maintaining high expectations has been instrumental in the program’s upward trajectory.
