Bio
Chris Shipe serves as the Head Football Coach at Los Medanos College, where he has built a reputation for developing a disciplined, competitive, and student-centered program. With more than 25 years of coaching experience, Shipe has been a cornerstone of the Mustangs football program for over two decades.
Shipe began his coaching career at Humboldt State, working with the wide receivers for three seasons before returning to Los Medanos College in 2002. He served as the program’s Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach for eight seasons, helping shape a dynamic offense and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. In 2010, he was named Head Coach, a role he has held for more than 15 years.
In his current position, Shipe oversees all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, game strategy, and staff leadership. His coaching philosophy emphasizes accountability, toughness, and academic success, creating an environment where student-athletes are challenged to reach their full potential.
Under Shipe’s leadership, the Mustangs continue to grow as a program defined by hard work, resilience, and a team-first mindset, with a strong focus on preparing student-athletes for success at the next level.
